LAST LOOK: Ukrainian Woman Murdered In Asylum Camp In Germany As Soldier Dad Attends Funeral

This is the last image of a young Ukrainian woman refugee who got a job as a cleaner at a ski resort in Germany and was stabbed to death by a man at the refugee camp where she was staying.

The young woman, identified only by her first name Alina, managed to cling on to life for almost a month before finally dying and being buried last weekend.

She was just 21 years old when she passed away. She had ended up in Germany searching for a new life after fleeing her native Ukraine when Russia invaded. The picture will now be her lasting memory after it was shared with friends and family at her funeral.

People who knew her in her new German hometown said that she always had a smile on her face despite being forced to flee her homeland, and she had the bad luck of meeting her killer in the asylum seeker accommodation where she was placed.

Shadi Barham, 28, reportedly fell in love with her, and refused to accept it when she said no. She had reportedly rejected him because she already had a boyfriend.

The funeral took place this weekend, and her father, who had been fighting the Russian invasion, was given leave from being on the frontline to travel to Germany to say farewell.

She had been hoping to leave the accommodation for asylum seekers in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, in southern Germany, after getting a job as a cleaner.

The young woman, originally from the city of Kherson in Ukraine, had reportedly left for work unaware that Barham was hiding in the garden.

He stabbed her and then left her lying critically injured on the ground at around 7am on 25th October 2022.

The 28-year-old Jordanian native then shockingly caught a cable car to a mountaintop restaurant where he ordered a EUR 9.20 (GBP 8) plate of bratwurst and fries.

He was arrested later that day after restaurant manager Andrew Syme, 51, became aware of the search for him and alerted the police.

Syme said: “I noticed him because of the strange order so early in the morning. It was funny, but we didn’t think anything more.

“When I recognised him later on the internet, I obviously informed the police.”

Meanwhile, despite doctors’ best efforts, Alina succumbed to her injuries on 27th November. a month after she was attacked and brought to a local hospital.

Her memorial took place in the Catholic parish church of St. Nicholas, in the town of Murnau am Staffelsee, in Upper Bavaria, Germany on Saturday, 3rd December.

Following the service, Alina’s family’s greatest wish is to have their daughter buried in Ukraine, as reported by media.

Barham, who was first accused of attempted murder and grievous bodily harm and has remained in custody since he was arrested, is now expected to face murder charges.
