This is the footage of a Lada SUV crashing into a large mound of asphalt that has been dumped across a main road, flipping the car through the air where it collides with the vehicle filming.

The accident was filmed near the village of Stara Pismyanka in the district of Leninogorsk in the south-western Russian republic of Tatarstan and the video was shared on social media where it has been viewed over 85,000 times.

In the dash-cam footage, the filming motorist is seen approaching two large mounds of asphalt on either side of the road.

For asphalt had been dumped there and allowed to spill onto the highway blocking the road partially, with no obvious warning signs, because this section of road is currently under repair, and access is supposed to be prohibited. Local media said traffic was being detoured along a nearby route and it is not known how the affected drivers got onto the closed road section.

The speeding SUV approaches with its headlights on and crashes into one of the piles.

The Lada Largus overturns in the air and crashes into the filming motorist.

The local authorities confirmed that both drivers have been injured after the Lada hit the large obstacle on the road.

The Lada Largus driver failed to see two large mounds of asphalt left on the roadside, although footage shows the piles blocking a large section of the street.

According to reports, the Lada driver was hospitalised with unspecified injuries while the owner of the car he landed on suffered a head injury.

An investigation is ongoing.
