The incident took place in the urban area of Kowloon in Hong Kong in south-eastern China, and the local police are still trying to track down the two suspects.

According to local media, the 22-year-old man, surnamed Yeung, posted online that he had face masks for sale and agreed to meet with a potential buyer the same day.

When the young man arrived at the meeting point, two people got into his car and one of them pulled out a knife, according to reports.

The suspects reportedly stole the two boxes, which contained over 100 face masks, as well as 9,000 HKD (943 GBP) in cash.

Fortunately, Yeung was shaken but unhurt in the incident. He drove to Metro Harbour View and called the cops who arrived shortly afterwards.

The local police have confirmed that they are looking for two people aged between 30 and 40.

The suspects were wearing face masks at the time, but have been described as being around 5’7” tall with short black hair while one of them wore glasses.

The investigation is ongoing.

Last month, an Indonesian housekeeper was jailed for four weeks for stealing 5,500 face masks.
