A 19-year-old girl suffered a horrific death when she was electrocuted by a plug-in barbecue at her home in Brazil.
Tragic Carolina dos Santos Oliveira was home alone when she switched on the device in Araraquara on 29th January.
But as she held an extension cord to plug into the grill, she was zapped by thousands of volts.
Her body – still clutching the live plug – was found five hours later by her boyfriend, who was anxious because he had been unable to contact her.
He called paramedics, but they could only confirm that she was dead.
Police investigating her death found bare wires on the cable she had been holding, where the flex’s insulation had come off.
Carolina’s body was sent to the Institute of Forensic Medicine in Araraquara for an autopsy.
In one grim detail, local media said she had been electrocuted continuously for five hours before help arrived.
Police are investigating the case.
