A mum stressed by financial worries knifed her own three-year-old daughter to death and then called cops to tell them what she had done.

When police arrived at the flat in North Miami Beach, Florida, USA, early on Tuesday, 27th December, they found the girl lying on the floor.

She had deep stab wounds to her face, neck, and chest and, could only be pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers found her mother, 24-year-old Jellisa Amoya Baxter, in the living room and proceeded to arrest her.

Chillingly, Baxter told how she had first tried to strangle her daughter, but it had not worked, so she had then stabbed her.

She was remanded in custody and is charged with first-degree murder and aggravated child abuse.

Neighbours told local media that she had been having financial difficulties and that her water had recently been cut off.

According to documents seen by local media, a legal process to evict her from her home had started on 15th December.

Baxter, who was reportedly unemployed, had more than 5,000 followers on Instagram.

She described herself online variously as an “endowarrior”, a “holistic health coach”, and a “multi-talented self-love and mental health advocate”.

Her latest social media post read: “In the blink of an eye, it could be taken away from you. Always be grateful.”

While an earlier post read: “2023 I am coming for you!”

The child victim can be seen walking around her home dressed in a tutu in this heartbreaking video footage.

Neighbour Julia Gutierrez told local media: “It’s sad because she was a little girl.”
