JOB COP: Florida Officer Praised For Helping Sobbing Woman Make It To Job Interview After Car Breaks Down

A Florida cop has been praised for helping a sobbing woman whose car broke down on the way to a job interview.

Amber Battle said she was just three minutes away from the offices of Noble Granite Inc in the city of Jacksonville in the US state of Florida when her car broke down.

Fearing she would miss her job interview with the company, Battle started to cry at the side of the road and a kindhearted cop of the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office stopped to offer help.

Battle said on Facebook: “We spoke for a moment, I let her know my situation, and that I really wanted to make it to this interview.

“As she was walking away I stopped her and asked ‘can you bring me to my interview?’ She hesitated a moment, then agreed to drive me, as long as I was okay with riding in the back seat’.”

According to the grateful woman, Officer Sylvia Mitchell drove her to the interview and even gave a personal endorsement to her prospective employers.

Battle said: “This wonderful officer brought me to my interview, even stepped in and told the hiring folks how bad I wanted the job and everything.

“She even let them know what time AAA should be getting to my car since she overheard our conversation.”

Noble Granite manager Nicole Lockett, who went on to interview Battle, said: “She came in and told me, while smiling, please give her this job because she was not letting her car hinder her from getting to her destination.

“This young lady’s drive and willingness to get to the interview, even in the midst of her car breaking down, speaks volumes.”

Following a successful first interview, Battle will now have a second interview with Noble Granite’s owner.

Battle said: “The world showed up and restored a bit of faith in me. Thanks to Officer Mitchell and AAA Kareem, I made it to my interview and me and my car made it home from my interview.”
