Influencer In Hot Water For Dancing On Busy Street Crossing In Skimpy Top

This is the moment Instagram model Shreya Kalra dances in front of motorists on a busy street crossing in a skimpy top, leading to her and the cameraman being investigated by the police.

The influencer was filmed dancing on a zebra crossing at Rasoma Square in the city of Indore in the Indian state of Madhya Pradesh earlier this week.

The footage shows Shreya running across the road on a red light and dancing in front of bemused motorists in a skimpy top and sports bottoms.

After the footage sparked a backlash on social media and the police announced that they would be looking into the matter, the influencer clarified that the video was filmed when the lights were red and that she had no intention of breaking any traffic laws.

She updated the caption for the video to now read: “Please do not break the rules – red sign means you have to stop at the signal not because I’m dancing, and wear your masks guys.”

However, her updated post did not stop Narottam Mishra, Home Minister for Madhya Pradesh, to take action against the Instagram model.

Mishra said he has “directed officials to take action as per the rules on the model for doing flash mobs at traffic signals. The spirit of flash mobs may be something but the method is wrong”.

He added: “Whatever her intentions were, it was wrong. I will issue an order to take action against her under Motor Vehicles Acts, to stop such incidents in the future.”

Traffic police spokesperson Umakant Chaudhary said an investigation is underway into the influencer and the cameraperson who filmed her street performance for causing a public nuisance.

Chaudhary also appealed to residents to abide by traffic rules and avoid taking part in such public stunts, especially those that could put lives at risk.
