This is the ‘Indiana Jones’ moment Turkish treasure hunters plunge an axe into the ground in a forest and what appears to be blood gushes from the growing crack – allegedly belonging to an evil spirit guarding the loot.
The group, names not reported, had been searching the area for a while before beginning to dig where they believed the treasure was buried, according to the news site Son Dakika.
One of the Turkish treasure hunters plunged his axe into the ground and heard a strange hissing sound that was following by a blood-like liquid oozing from the growing fissure.
In the viral footage, shared on TikTok on 10th November and viewed over a million times, the man is seen hitting the earth with his axe several times before a loud sound fills the air.
The pair stops and turns to run as a crack opens along the ground and ‘blood’ starts to ooze out.
The two men, and apparently a third person filming the scene, flee the area as the ground apparently shakes.
Like something from an Indiana Jones film, a treasure hunter falls over while the earth tremors underfoot and he then shows a blood-like liquid that had splashed onto his trousers.
According to their conversation in the clip, the treasure hunters ran into a protective circle they drew in the soil before they started digging.
While in the protective circle, the men reportedly believed that were safe from an evil spirit guarding the treasure and discussed the blood on the man’s trousers.
Son Dakika said other Turkish treasure hunters are now too scared to visit the forested area, specific location not reported, to try to unearth the suspected treasure.
