A man who stabbed his ex-wife 36 times in a frenzied attack after she walked out on him with their son is facing murder charges in Germany.

Accused Givami Gibner, 35, followed victim Milena Gibner, 28, to a nightclub where he confronted her in front of her friends, a court heard.
And after she ignored his demand to come home with him, Gibner chillingly warned her: “You will pay for your words.”
Hours later Milena was dead after her estranged husband’s brutal attack in front of her apartment block in the town of Stadtallendorf, in the Marburg-Biedenkopf county, in the German state of Hesse on 30th October last year.
At his murder trial at Marburg District Court on 5th September he confessed to judges: “I killed my ex-wife.”
The couple had wed in the summer of 2021 after meeting while they were both on holiday in Turkey.
But after just six months together – the court heard – Milena moved out with the couple’s son Aris, now aged three.
Prosecutors say Gibner was unable to accept the split.

In one angry confrontation, he shouted at Milena outside a supermarket: “You, witch, have destroyed my life. So I’ll destroy yours.
Her childhood friend Anna, 32, said: “He hid in the hallway, showed up when she was shopping and at the playground, waited at her mother’s, watched her in front of the house.
“That was psychological terror. Milena was terrified and informed the police several times.”
A police officer told judges at the trial that the suspect appeared “unemotional, completely calm, clarified” when he handed himself in after the stabbing.
In court, Gibner confirmed through his lawyer that he had murdered his wife but refused to give any further details.
During the 5th September hearing the judge pointed towards a 19-centimetre-long (7.5 inches) kitchen knife and asked Gibner: “You killed your wife with this knife?”

The defendant answered through his attorney: “That’s right.”
Milena’s son Aris is currently being taken care of by his grandmother Anna, 49.
The trial continues on 8th September.
