The Israel Defense Forces have handed three of their members jail sentences after a video emerged of two of them carrying out target practice in their birthday suits.
The incident took place at the training base of the Nahal Brigade – one of the IDF’s main infantry brigades – on 18th May.
Footage that later made its way online shows two soldiers – both platoon commanders – stark naked as they discharge their firearms at targets.
The soldiers in question, according to local media, were sentenced to 21 days in jail by the brigade’s commander, Colonel Oren Simcha, on 21st May.
In addition to their prison sentences, they were given four-month bans from serving in combat roles.
The officer who recorded the footage was also sentenced to 21 days in a military prison. At the time of reporting, a decision regarding his service was pending.
A Twitter user joked underneath the video: “To solve the budget problems, the IDF opens an OnlyFans account.”
And another jested: “I don’t understand what the problem is. We were once taught that we must be prepared for any situation.”
A military spokesperson said: “The investigation revealed that the soldiers and the officer acted contrary to what was expected of IDF soldiers and officers, and they seriously harmed military culture.”
