This is the moment a nephew shoots his aunt to the ground as she runs away from him before the victim’s husband comes and helps shoot her twice in the head at point blank range.

The startling scenes were recorded by security cameras in the town of Vicentinopolis in the Brazilian state of Goias.

In the video, a woman, identified by police as Valdiandrea D’arc de Almeida, 38, can be seen running down the street being pursued by a gunman, identified in reports as her nephew Carlos Humberto da Silva Filho, 19.

Filho opens fire on his aunt and she crashes to the ground face-first in a heap.

The gunman then walks up to the victim and tries to shoot her in the back of the head but the pistol appears to jam.

Another man, identified in local media as the victim’s husband Ronaldo Cabral Franco, 43, comes and tries to help the gunman with the pistol before the younger man fixes the problem and shoots the victim twice in the back of the head.

The pair then sprint away from the scene leaving the victim motionless on the ground.

Local media report the victim died instantly and both suspects were arrested in the nearby town of Goiatuba.

Chief investigator Patrick Carniel told reporters that he believes Franco had organised for his nephew to kill his wife out of jealousy as he thought she was cheating on him.

The couple had reportedly been together for nine years and Carniel revealed that the victim had filed a complaint against her husband for making threats last year.

Both suspects will be charged with femicide and face between 12 and 30 years in prison if found guilty.

The case is ongoing.
