Brazilian actress Cleo has hit back at critics who took issue with her bushy eyebrows.

The stunning 40-year-old had taken to Instagram on 27th December to post a series of tender snaps with her hubby Leandro D’Lucca, as well as friends and family, from their holiday home in Camacari, Brazil.

But she had not imagined she would receive a torrent of abuse over her new appearance.

The snaps, which she captioned “Love”, garnered comments like “I only noticed the eyebrows”, “Strange eyebrows”, and “You need to get your eyebrows done”.

Others asked “Those two caterpillars above Cleo’s eyes?” and “Am I the only one who thinks there’s too much eyebrow on Cleo’s face?”

One even wrote: “Cleo had such pretty eyebrows, man, where are they? Sorry, dear, that’s not cool.”

But the actress took the comments in her stride, replying to her critics in style in a video posted to Instagram Stories.

Cleo told her 20.7 million followers: “They’re talking badly about my eyebrows. But I’m loving it.”

It is not the first time the tattooed actress – whose full name is Cleo Pires Ayrosa Galvao – has caused a stir with her appearance.

She had come in for criticism after tying the knot in a black wedding dress and posting bikini photos with cellulite.

She has starred in several films and TV series including ‘Lula, Son of Brazil’ and the telenovela ‘America’.
