This 22-year-old Vietnamese woman had so many cosmetic surgery ops – including a boob job and multiple face operations – that her own family didn’t recognise her and ignored her for a month.

According to local media, Tran Vu Van Anh from the southern Vietnamese city of Ho Chi Minh, formerly Saigon, has been ignored by her family members for over a month after they failed to recognise her.

In a recent social media post, the 22-year-old said that she had always been insecure over her “big and rough” nose and “lack of chin”.

She added that she “did not look good” and “always wanted to have life-changing plastic surgery”.

Van Anh performed two jobs as a waitress and receptionist to save enough money for her first operation, a nose job when she was 19 years old.

Believing that her conservative-minded family would object, she underwent the operation in secret.

She said: “I was afraid when I did the first round [of surgery] and my family knew nothing about it. One close friend came with me.

“On the operation table, I could only place my trust in the surgeon and hope that everything went smoothly.”

Following rhinoplasty, Van Anh went on to have a boob job, double eyelid surgery and face fillers, according to the 22-year-old.

She said that she is now satisfied with her appearance, adding: “Luckily, all the surgeries were successful. With the new round of operations, I was finally able to feel confident after many years of low self-esteem.”

However, many of her friends and family did not recognise her when she returned home and her mum in particular was “very angry” about the operations, according to Van Anh.

Luckily, after a month of ignoring her, Van Anh’s mum eventually came round and accepted her changed look.

The Vietnamese woman, who works in the beauty industry, now hopes to inspire others to “improve their looks” and “feel more satisfied with themselves”.
