This is the moment a thug in a hoodie sprints up to a petrol station worker and shoots him dead before stealing his money and escaping on a motorbike.

The shocking incident took place at a petrol station at Bulevar Airport in Toluca municipality, in the central Mexican state of Mexico and was recorded by a CCTV camera.

In the video, the petrol station worker can be seen standing next to the pumps when a thug in dark clothing and a hoodie runs up to him.

The worker, who has not been named in reports, senses a robbery is taking place and puts both his hands in the air.

However, the criminal takes aim and shoots the man in the chest anyway, causing him to collapse to the ground in a heap.

The thug then takes the money from the worker’s pockets and sprints away as the worker writhes in pain.

The injured man’s colleagues come sprinting to his aid as the criminal speeds away on a motorbike in the background.

Local media report the worker died but it is unclear if he passes away at the scene or if he was taken to a hospital.

Reports state the criminal escaped on the motorbike with an accomplice and a police investigation has been launched to identify them. No arrests have been reported.
