Two of the youngsters then walk into the shop, one carrying a pistol, and they push the young man working there inside.

The teenagers appear to march the man to the counter where his mother, named in reports as Elsa, is working.

One of the suspected criminals wearing a red cap then begins fighting with the mother, who shoves him from behind the counter.

The mother-and-son then chase the them out of the shop and the trio run away down the street.

Local media report no shots were fired and nothing was stolen. Mother Elsa told local news channel ‘24 Horas’: “I was thinking about my son, if they dragged him they would kill him. My reaction was quick, I tried to push the robber and then my son dragged him.”

According to local media, a car was waiting for the suspects at the end of an alley at the side of the shop which the men used to escape.

Local residents complained to social media that robberies were common in the area, with one saying: “We have to be very careful, we cannot leave our houses, and after certain hours you cannot go out to the park.”

Reports state the mother reported the alleged robbery attempt to the local police and they are using the CCTV footage to try to identify the robbers. The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been reported.
