A tight-fisted millionaire has been mocked by his girlfriend for making a meal of money-saving during a beach holiday in Sardinia.

Fed up Stasya Brykalova turned to TikTok when her partner refused to take her to fancy restaurants on the Italian island’s luxury Costa Smeralda.

Instead, she said, he prefers to tuck in to EUR 1 serving of home-cooked pasta eaten from a plastic storage box to avoid the cost of a restaurant bill.

Stasya filmed her boyfriend – who was not named – eating as the couple sat under beach umbrellas.

And she hilariously captioned the footage: “It’s my boyfriend, he has a million on his bank account, five apartments in Rome and two houses in Sardinia, but he prepared EUR-1 (GBP-0.7) pasta for the beach to not pay for the lunch.”

The clip quickly went viral on TikTok with more than 5.2 million views and 300,000 likes.

But many users praised her boyfriend for being careful with his money rather than flaunting it.

One user called ‘Kamil’ said in a comment: “That is why. I do the same thing minus the milions, and the properties. well.”

Another – ‘ionelcoroian’ – added: “because it is absurd to pay 10 times more for a plate of pasta.”

And user ‘FlavioRomeo’ said: “I think it’s one of the most Italian things a person can do at the seaside. Nice, cold pasta.”

Stasya, who originally comes from the Czech Republic, lives in Rome with her boyfriend.

In her TikTok posts, the couple are often seen holidaying on the French Riviera, in Amsterdam, Malta, and many other expensive destinations.
