These are the shocking scenes that greeted cops when they entered this tiny two-bedroom flat where a woman was living with her daughter as well as three other adults, a dog and six cats.
The entire property, according to police, had a terrible smell and was completely littered with junk and rubbish including old papers and empty food containers – with rotting food also found in the fridge.
Police raided the property in the Ukrainian capital Kiev, which is the most populated city in the country, after neighbours reported a naked child wondering around on the porch alone. In the flat, they found the young girl, her mother, her father, and two other adults, none of whom have been named, six cats and a dog.

Police officer Lyudmila Zaitseva, an inspector with the crime prevention sector of the Oboloni police department, said: “When we entered the house, we were struck by the unsanitary conditions and stink.
“There was a mess in the rooms and the kitchen, heaps of unnecessary things, rubbish, food in the refrigerator that was spoiled. In addition, the apartment had an aged dog and six cats.”
Given that the family’s living conditions threatened the girl’s health and well-being, the police sent her to a Kiev orphanage and an administrative protocol was drawn up for her mother.
It is reported that the mother has been told the apartment needs to be cleaned and improved if she is to be given her daughter back.
Only when social workers accept that the accommodation is suitable, will the girl be returned.
The shocking conditions caused outrage online, with commentator ‘Ramplstilskin Ramplstilskin’: “You can find pigs like this in every country.”
And ‘Andrei Bandurko’ said: “How can you do this to your child? This is evil, and certainly not being a mother.”
While ‘Marina Koneva’ added: “I doubt that this sick mother will clean the apartment and throw out these cats and dogs! In cases like this, the child is better off without a mother.”
