Footage Of Burst Tyre Crash That Killed 36 In China

This is the footage showing the aftermath of a crash that has made international headlines today as a coach with a burst tyre crashed into an oncoming lorry on a motorway – killing 36 people.

The tragedy comes just three days before China holds official National Day celebrations on 1st October, marking the 70th anniversary of the Communist Party.

The coach at full capacity, carrying 69 people including the driver, is said to have crashed through the central reservation of the Changchun-Shenzhen Expressway before colliding with the lorry at roughly 7am local time on 28th September.

The lorry carrying three people is pictured crashed off the opposite side of the motorway in the city of Yixing, which in East China’s Jiangsu Province, with the bus heavily damaged following the accident.

The authorities said the accident, which killed 36 bus passengers and left 36 injured, was likely due to a tyre burst.

A front-left tyre suffered a blowout, causing the coach to lose control and crash, preliminary investigation results show.

Nine of the injured victims were in serious condition, while 26 passengers still remained hospital in nearby facilities.

Only one of the injured passengers has been discharged since the accident.

None of the three lorry occupants are believed to have been seriously harmed as investigations into the holiday season tragedy continue.
