This is the moment firefighters are called to a nursery school to help save a screaming young girl who had trapped one of her fingers in a plastic chair.

The hapless child from the city of Zhongxiang, which is in Central China’s Hubei Province, had been playing with the green furniture when her ring finger got stuck in a hole.

Video taken from her school on 5th September shows teachers shielding the girl’s face as rescuers cut at the green plastic chair with their tools.

The sound of the chair being sawed and carefully torn apart frightens the girl, but the firemen and her teachers do their best to keep her calm.

The authorities said her right ring finger had become swallowed as a result of multiple attempts to pull it free from the seat, leaving them no choice but to cut the digit free.

After removing a large portion of the chair, rescuers then used a pair of pliers to cut through the plastic so as not to cause further injury with their heavy-duty tools.

The video shows the girl’s finger being lifted out of the plastic chair before long, and her teachers then check on her digit to make sure it is not bleeding.

Reports said the child’s finger was not cut by the plastic, and she did not require further treatment.
