Enraged Passenger Hits Co-Pilot After 13-Hour-Long Delay

The bizarre video shows an enraged passenger in a yellow hoodie hitting the co-pilot after the flight was delayed for more than 13 hours.

Devastating footage recorded by travellers on flight 6E-2157 by India’s IndiGo airline shows the passenger approaching the cabin personnel before he violently slapped co-pilot Anup Kumar, on Sunday, 14th January.

A female flight attendant can then be seen screaming at the passenger, later identified as Sahil Kataria, in order to back away before another one came and took him to the back of the plane.

The incident reportedly happened after the flight bound from Delhi to Goa, on the southwestern coast of India, delayed for more than 13 hours due to heavy fog.

Indian media revealed that Kataria was kicked out of the plane following the incident, and was later handed over to the authorities.

The footage prompted an outrage by social media users, after its posted on the platform X, around 8pm the same day.

X user ‘@IshwarBagga’ said: “What does the pilot or cabin crew have to do with the delay? They were just doing their job.

“Arrest this man, and put him on the no-fly list. Publish his picture so people are aware of his bad temper in public.”

Then user ‘@doc_sacharr’ commented: “This person should be booked for assault as well as put on a No Fly List. While @IndiGo6E is in the news for all the wrong reasons and must be taken to task for its shortcomings, but this is totally unacceptable passenger behaviour.”

And ‘@AmazingCreditC’ added: “Frustration doesn’t give a passenger the right to physically assault a crew member.”

The video has been viewed more than 2.4 million times as of 15th January.
