Drunk Man Who Stabbed Wife In Face With 25cm Knife During Row Faces Over Decade In Jail

This shocking footage shows a bloodied woman with a 25-centimetre-long knife protruding from her nose after she was stabbed in the face during a row by her drunk husband, who now faces over a decade behind bars.

The footage was filmed in the wake of the brutal attack in the town of Apsheronsk in the southern Russian region of Krasnodar Krai on the evening of 19th November 2021.

During the alcohol-fuelled row, the woman’s 64-year-old husband allegedly grabbed the knife and plunged it into her face.

The 60-year-old woman, despite being in a state of shock, managed to escape and call for help from her neighbours, who called for an ambulance.

She was taken to hospital, where medics were able to remove the large knife, which had lodged deep in her head but luckily missed her important organs, in an operation that lasted over an hour.

The woman’s nasal septum, left nasal turbinate and left maxillary sinus were damaged. She is reported to still have a long rehabilitation period ahead of her and requires plastic surgery.

According to one account, the row erupted between the couple because the man, who worked odd jobs, was jealous.

An unnamed neighbour was quoted as saying: “She’s a very beautiful woman, she looks great for her age. Men often compliment her. And her husband was apparently worried she might leave him. I honestly can’t see any other reason.”

However, law enforcement officers believe the row was domestic and that the man’s violent behaviour was fuelled by heavy drinking.

The man remains in pre-trial custody and reportedly faces up to over 10 years in prison if convicted of attempted murder.
