Drunk Man Climbs To Top Of 100 Foot High Airport Ceiling Because He Says He Was Bored

This is the moment an apparently drunk man scales a 100-foot-high airport ceiling because he was “bored” of waiting for days for his flight.

The unidentified man spent hours at the top of the Terminal A building in Vnukovo Airport, which serves the Russian capital, Moscow, before he was finally coaxed back down on 29th September.

News site Top News reported that the man was a Cuban citizen who had already spent days in the airport waiting for his flight back to Cuba to leave on 3rd October.

After skilfully making his way to the top of the terminal building, he concerned onlookers by hanging from the beams with one hand and climbing onto different parts of the ceiling, prompting them to call the emergency services.

Police officers and airport security officers quickly arrived and tried to convince the would-be Spiderman to climb down.

A translator was eventually brought in, and after speaking to the man in Spanish through a megaphone, the climber then made his way back down after having spent several hours nearly 100 feet above the ground.

After he had been coaxed down, the news site MSK reported that he told officials he had made the climb because he was “bored” of waiting for his flight and he wanted to get some attention.

However, MSK also reported that the man may have simply been drunk when he decided to scale the 30-metre- (98-ft-) high ceiling.

According to Top News, prior to scaling the ceiling, the man had made a request to have his flight changed to an earlier date, which was rejected.

Top News also reported that the man had threatened to jump during his time above the ground.

Airport staff subsequently confirmed that the man was being dealt with by ambulance staff and law enforcement officers, and MSK reported that specialists would determine the man’s mental condition.

No departures or arrivals were reported to have been delayed by the incident.
