This is the moment a Turkish motorist narrowly misses several fleeing pedestrians on the pavement after carrying out an illegal U-turn in an Istanbul street and being hit by a passing taxi.
Yasar Unlu reportedly carried out the illegal U-turn on a street in the neighbourhood of Karakoy in the north-western Turkish city of Istanbul at around 12.15pm on 29th December.
Unable to avoid the turning car, taxi driver Suleyman Dusden crashed into the back of the vehicle and sent it speeding onto the busy pavement.
The out-of-control car nearly ploughed into several pedestrians, and two people were taken to hospital with injuries, according to local reports.
In the CCTV footage of the incident, the taxi is seen hitting the black car as it turns in the road.
The impact of the collision sends the car hurtling onto the pavement and knocking over at least one metal bollard.
Meanwhile, three fleeing pedestrians are narrowly missed by the car as it crashes into a tree and comes to a stop.
Two pedestrians, named Yasar Coskun and Yusuf Tas, were taken to the Taksim Training and Research Hospital by ambulance after first aid was given at the scene.
Both patients did not suffer any life-threatening injuries.
Police teams were also sent to the scene after witnesses reported the incident to the emergency services.
It is unclear if the car driver was arrested for allegedly causing the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
