This bus driver and his conductor girlfriend have tied the knot on the very bus he proposed to her on last month.

The wedding took place in the city of Kharkiv in the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv Oblast in front of a busload of guests.

In late October, trolleybus driver Maksim Chirva decided to propose to his colleague and girlfriend Daria Kotvitskaya at work to make the moment more memorable.

One month later, they chose the same venue to tie the knot.

The couple met a year ago when Daria was working as a kiosk cashier and Maksim would regularly pop by to see her.

She told local media: “He was a regular client who would come to drink coffee, this is how it all started. We soon began dating and after a while Maksim asked me to move in.”

Shortly after living together, Maksim helped his girlfriend become a conductor on his trolleybus.

In the video footage, he is heard calling his colleague to the front of the bus.

Maksim then drops to one knee and holds up a bouquet of flowers with a ring box on top.

The happy couple kiss and embrace as passengers at the back cheer the romantic gesture.

Daria said: “I suspected he might propose one day, but I did not think it would happen like this. I was really surprised.”

Maksim told local media that he was so scared that his hands were shaking and he was nearly unable to put the ring on his fiancee’s finger.

The wedding celebrations took place inside the same trolleybus, and together with their family and friends they took a tour around the city of Kharkiv in the north-eastern Ukrainian region of Kharkiv Oblast.
