This footage shows an amateur drifter lose control of their vehicle and knocks a man packing away his shopping in his car to the ground before running him over.

The startling incident occurred in the Karatay district of Konya province in Turkey as an unnamed man was packing his shopping into his car and was recorded by a CCTV camera in the area.

In the video, the man can be seen walking up to his vehicle carrying shopping bags, placing one of them on top of the car.

A drifting driver then speeds across a junction and turns onto the street but loses control of the vehicle which skids across two lanes.

The driver cannot stop the car skidding into the parked vehicle which is sent crashing into the man. The man collapses to the ground in a heap and the drifting driver then runs over him before coming to a halt after dragging the man under the car for several feet.

Three people get out of the car and a group of onlookers rush to lift it off the man stuck below and he can be seen writhing in pain.

Local media report the victim suffered severe injuries and he remains fighting for his life in hospital.

A police investigation has been launched but it is unclear if any arrests have been made.
