In the video released by the hospital’s Facebook page, the patient can be seen lying on a gurney while the doctors remove a football-sized tumour from her pelvic cavity.

Moments later, the chief doctor at the operating theatre can be seen picking up the tumour and placing it in a bin before performing a bizarre victory dance.

According to local media, the paramedics who transferred the woman said that she had complained of severe pain and had difficulty breathing.

Doctors managed to stabilise the patient and examine her.

Medics then found the huge ovarian tumour and the patient was sent immediately to the operating table.

Surgeons led by department head, Dmitry Aryutin removed a 25-kilogramme (55-lb) tumour from the woman’s body.

The operation was successful, and the patient is recovering well.

Further examinations, however, revealed that the tumour was benign.

The hospital staff wrote on the Facebook page: “The case is not unique – our surgeons often come across similarly large tumours. The reason is often a delay in seeking medical help and the neglect of the patient’s health. Such neoplasms press on the intestines, stomach and diaphragm, causing discomfort and pain, but patients believe that everything will go away by itself.”
