Upon arrival, the officers located a raccoon that was stuck, and they were concerned that if it was left unattended that it would drown.

In the footage obtained by Newsflash, the poor animal appears to have been eagerly waiting for help to arrive and remains incredibly calm as officers open up the drain and attempt to reach it.

With the assistance of Yarmouth Public Works and a dog pole from the Cumberland, Maine Police Department, they were able to successfully get the raccoon out of the drain.

They carried it to a nearby wooded area, as far away from the road as possible.
