DOWN AND OUT: Man Raises Geese To Make His Wife A Feather-Stuffed Winter Coat

A man who could not afford to buy his wife an expensive down-filled coat solved the problem by spending six months raising geese and killing them at the end to get feathers he could use to make her a coat himself.

The husband – named Mr Chen in local media in Hengyang, Hunan Province – raised geese for over six months for this special purpose.

He said his wife comes from a much warmer region in China and is unused to the harsh weather in his hometown.

So, Mr Chen thought to buy a couple of geese and raised them for more than 180 days so that he could use their feathers to keep his wife protected from the cold.

He spent a week picking and cleaning the feathers he would use for his wife’s coat before tailoring it with his own two hands.

After long preparations and some CNY 1,120 (GBP 136) later, Mr Chen fashioned a brand new jacket for his beloved.

In a video that he posted on Douyin, China’s TikTok, Ms Chen can be seen happily modelling her specially tailored red coat.

Netizens were apparently touched by her husband’s gesture and said it must have made the winter feel all the warmer.
