Dog Locked In Car Puts Paws On Steering Wheel And Honks Horn To Remind Owner To Hurry Up

This footage shows a dog that was locked in a car putting its paws on the steering wheel and apparently honking the horn to remind its owner it has been left behind after she went into a nearby building, causing the poor pooch to panic.

The scene, which took place in the city of Huadian, which is located in Jilin Province in north-eastern China, reportedly caught people nearby by surprise especially as the dog owner, who has not been named, was nowhere to be seen.

As can be seen in the footage, the dog, also unnamed, can be seen with its two front paws apparently pressed firmly against the steering wheel as it stands on its hind legs in the driver’s seat.

And the horn in this car, make and model unknown, appears to be in the middle of the steering wheel, as a loud noise, which appears to be much more of a hard press on behalf of the unblinking pooch than a short ‘honk’, ensures that everyone in the vicinity is alerted to its plight.

Chinese media said that the dog had started pressing down on the horn after its female owner went upstairs to get some documents and did not return for some time.

The woman did reportedly come back eventually and said that her clever little dog can also wind the windows down on its own. It is believed that the windows are electric, and are operated with a button.

She also said that the dog knew lots of other things too but sadly details on the clever canine’s other abilities were not forthcoming.

Netizens joked that the dog was honking the horn after growing impatient. Other netizens said that some dogs simply have very high IQ levels and are good at expressing themselves.
