In a tragic series of photos, Cristian Jimenez can be seen smiling for the camera with his four-year-old son, Julian.

This was before the small boy’s mother, Manuela Medina, allegedly stabbed her son to death in Los Ralos, Tucuman Province, Argentina on Tuesday, 1st November, according to local media reports.

She then shot herself in the stomach with her service weapon and had to be taken to a nearby hospital while a forensic team from the police’s Homicide Division attended the scene.

The service weapon had been previously confiscated by police officials after Julian’s mother was allegedly involved in a domestic violence incident prior to his death.

It was then handed back to the policewoman on the same day that she allegedly murdered her son and attempted to kill herself, according to reports.

This was after she had reportedly passed a psychological examination at work.

Cristian has now told local media that he had battled with justice officials to try to get sole custody of his son during the two years leading up to his death.

He added: “I only had my superhero for five years, he just wanted to be happy and he was taken from me yesterday in an attack of madness…

“Two years I fought in court…proving everything, but justice is slow for the poor and fast for the rich.”

Julian’s mother remains in hospital.

No formal charges have been reported as of yet.
