This new and uncensored footage shows a deceased pensioner being dragged from his coffin and thrown on the floor by his estranged children who allegedly gatecrashed his funeral because he did not leave them any inheritance.
The horrific scenes were captured by a CCTV camera at the funeral service of Han Xianggu, 72, who died last month in the town of Qindong, which is in the city of Dongtai in East China’s Zhejiang Province.
Uncensored footage dated 27th December shows Mr Han’s son and two daughters entering the room where his body is being displayed to mourners inside a crystal coffin.
One of his daughters removes the coffin lid and appears to slap the dead pensioner on the face, before she yanks off his blanket and all three siblings pull their dead dad out by his burial clothes.
The deceased man is thrown onto the floor of the mourning hall where he is left for the duration of the shocking footage.
A spokesperson for the town government called the incident the result of “internal family affairs”, saying they had already issued a death certificate and that the matter was not related to any administrative disputes.
He added that the family’s elders “had already handled” matters, with Mr Han’s body since cremated.
Dongtai police, however, are investigating Mr Han’s three children for offences including desecration of a corpse.
Qian Hong, who Mr Han reportedly lists in his will as his godson, has told local media that his godfather’s three estranged children were after his money before his death.
According to reports, Mr Han revealed in his will that he had separated from his wife and left his three children behind in 1983, after which he lived alone.
The document noted that his godson would alone arrange his funeral service, the costs of which would not be shared among his three adult children.
Mr Han refused to leave his estranged kids any money after his death, leading the trio to allegedly gatecrash their late father’s funeral with a group of around 20 people, Mr Qian claimed.
