This is the moment a trio of cute endangered Siberian tiger cubs play with each other in a forest.

The cute tiger cubs were caught on a hidden camera installed in the territory of the Leopard Land National Park in Primorsky Krai in the Far Eastern Federal District of eastern Russia.

In the clip, the Siberian tigers (Tigris tigris) can be seen playing in the forest, lying against a tree trunk together.

The big cats stretch and yawn before calmly scratching at each other as they roll on the ground.

According to the press service of the park, the tigers were in sight of the camera for a few hours as they waited for their mother to return.

Park specialists say the tigers use the time away from their mother to hone their instincts and practice hunting techniques.

Leopard Land science officer Ekaterina Blidchenko: “In the game, the cubs are working out all types of behaviour that will later use in adulthood. Each game has its own rules the cubs are trying to adhere to. This is the age the cubs practice their hunting techniques, simulating the episodes of real hunting scenes.”

A 2015 census revealed there was a total population of 562 wild Siberian tigers in Russia and the species is listed as ‘Endangered’ on the International Union for Conservation of Nature’s Red List.

The Leopard Land park is home to over 30 adult Siberian tigers.
