Little Rodaina Mohamed left her home in Al-Najahiya village – near Nag Hammadi, Qena Governorate – on 11th May to go to Quran memorisation class.

However, she failed to arrive.

Her worried family and their neighbours searched all over for the missing schoolgirl but to no avail.

They reviewed footage from CCTV cameras and feared the worst when they saw images of Rodaina entering a street but failing to appear on the other side.

The worst was confirmed when, a short while later, a woman ran into the street yelling: “Help! My sister has slaughtered a girl.”

Angry locals who heard the woman’s shouts then barged their way into her sister’s home and began searching for Rodaina.

The missing girl’s mutilated body was quickly found bagged up on the rooftop of the building.

A short while later, security officers arrived on the scene, arrested the suspect, and removed the body.

The woman was questioned and taken into custody.

According to preliminary investigations, the suspect lured the girl into her home and beheaded her so she could steal her gold earrings.

In a failed bid to evade being caught – investigators believe – she stashed her victim’s body on the roof.

The woman’s identity was withheld at the time of writing.

The case is now in the hands of the Public Prosecutor’s Office.
