The Serbian man, identified only as Zoran N., 65, reported a bomb threat on a Lufthansa plane causing chaos in Belgrade airport and the delay of the flight from the Serbian capital city of Belgrade to Frankfurt in Germany, has been sentenced to mandatory psychiatric treatment in a closed facility.
Zoran N. reportedly told the prosecution at the time that he had met two flight attendants and had fallen in love with one of them immediately. He invited both of them for dinner, but they apparently refused.
He then looked for the woman he liked in the morning in the hotel where she was staying, but as he could not find her, he decided to call the airport and report an alleged bomb on the plane.
He made the false report just to stop the flight attendant from leaving on the flight to Frankfurt, according to local media.
As a result, 130 passengers and five crew members were reportedly evacuated from the plane which took off with a delay after no bomb was found.
