The operation ensures the safety of the pregnant women and health workers carrying out the birth.

The mother’s triplets are reportedly in good health and they all tested negative for the virus.

Meanwhile, the unnamed mum is also recovering well.

The local health authority said the hospital’s infection control team were present in the operation theatre throughout the C-section.

Last month, a Saudi woman diagnosed with COVID-19 gave birth to a healthy baby girl at Dhahran General Hospital in the south-western Saudi province of Aseer.

Doctors also carried out a C-section on the infected mum.
