This is the moment popular country singer Juliano Cezar suffers a heart attack while performing on stage before reportedly dying an hour later.
The 58-year-old singer died on New Year’s Eve after collapsing on stage in the municipality of Uniflor in the southern Brazilian state of Parana, according to his producer Mauro Vasconcelos.
Vasconcelos said the country singer was treated by medics near the venue, but he died an hour later.
In the video footage, Cezar is seen performing on stage before bending over and looking to support himself with a microphone stand.
However, clearly in distress, the singer falls face-down and bandmates eventually realise the situation is serious.
According to the singer’s social media accounts, his body has been taken to his home city of Passos in the southeastern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais to be laid to rest.
Cezar was married and had no children.
The Mayor of Uniflor, Alan Rogerio Petenazzi, explained that there was not an ambulance at the venue because a clinic was open nearby.
Juliano learned how to play the guitar when he was 10 years old and first found fame with his single ‘Nao Aprendi Dizer Adeus’ (‘I Did Not Learn How to Say Goodbye’).
In 2004, he was nominated for a Latin Grammy for Best Romantic Album for his LP ‘O Cowboy Vagabundo-Vida de Peao’.
