The gruesome remains of a dad have been found buried under the floor of his prayer room after he was allegedly bludgeoned to death in a love-triangle row seven months ago.

The remains of 51-year-old Surono from the village of Juroju in the regency of Jember located in the southern Indonesian province of East Java were found by the police seven months after his sudden disappearance.

According to local media, the victim’s son Bahar told the community chief Edi that he suspected his dad was buried under the floor in his home prayer room.

Edi reportedly passed on the information to the cops who ripped up the floor and discovered a body.

Police spokesperson Alfian Nurrizal told local media: “The victim was Surono and the cause [of death] was homicide.

“There were clothes that belonged to Surono along with his sarong. His height matched the victim’s characteristics. That assured us that the body was indeed Surono.”

The police said they discovered signs that the victim had been hit on the neck with a blunt instrument. They also found a crowbar buried next to the corpse which may have been the murder weapon.

Although the police have yet to identify a main suspect in the ongoing investigation, the victim’s son Bahar reportedly believes that the perpetrator was Surono’s 45-year-old wife Busani.

Local media said that Bahar told the village chief that Busani killed her husband after he caught her with another man called Jumarin.

Since Surono went missing, Busani and Jumarin have been living together, according to reports.

Bahar, Busani and Jumarin have all reportedly been questioned by the police as the investigation continues.
