This image shows a worn-out medic slumped against a hospital after working for 20 hours straight to battle the killer Coronavirus.

This heartbreaking picture was snapped at the People’s Hospital of Wenjiang District, Chengdu in China as the crisis threatens to spiral out of control.

The picture – reportedly featuring Dr Zhang Rui, 29, – shows the hardworking medic taking a breather against the wall after working for 20 hours.

The photo was reportedly taken by several patients diagnosed with Covid19 as they prepared to undergo a CT scan.

When they arrived they found Dr Zhang Rui, the medic supposedly waiting to pick them up was simply too tired to help.

The doctor had apparently fallen asleep after performing 26 CT scans and X-Rays on patients during his shift.

According to local media, the patients saw him sleeping but couldn’t bear to wake him up as they understood that he must have been exhausted.

Zhang’s colleague, Li Chen told local media that he offered to swap shifts with his heroic colleague who refused and said he was fine.

Zhang later told reporters that such tiredness was a common issue for people in his department at this stage of the crisis.
