COPS RAMMED AT CHECKPOINT: Terrifying Moment Officers Tried To Stop Fleeing Car

This is the terrifying moment a 20-year-old driver tries to ram two police officers out of the way when he refuses to stop for a checkpoint on Christmas Day.

The drama unfolded when the VW Golf driven by Lautaro Ordonez, was stopped in Cordoba, central Argentina, for speeding.

But as police tried to persuade him to steer his car to the side of the road, Ordenez put his foot down, trying to ram the officers out of the way.

Video footage of the confrontation on 25th December shows two officers – a man and a woman – hurling themselves onto the car’s bonnet in a bid to stop it.

But as they cling to the bodywork, the car keeps shooting forward while a third officer tries to tackle the driver.

The male officer on the bonnet can be seen hammering at the windscreen, causing it to crack.

The confrontation only ended when a police car blocked the VW’s way and officers dragged the driver out onto the roadside and put him in handcuffs.

Investigating prosecutor Liliana Copello said that the driver as well as the two women who were with him – Abril Aresca, 21, and Tiziana Aresca, 19 – are being held in custody.

Copello said the driver faces up to a year in prison if found guilty of injuring a police officer and resisting arrest,

Results of a test for drugs and alcohol are pending.
