Cops In Mexico City Hunt Pretty Sisters On The Run After Being Accused Of Leading Tobacco Cartel

Cops in Mexico City are hunting these two glamorous sisters, whom they accuse of leading a tobacco smuggling cartel.

Andrea Cristina G, alias ‘La Takeshi’, and Viridiana G, alias ‘La Chata’, are under investigation for heading the illegal tobacco trade in the neighbourhood of Colonia Morelos in the Mexican capital.

The sisters are cousins of Yahir Altamirano Galicia, a leader of the Union Tepito cartel, who was arrested for extorting local restauranteurs in the district of Colonia Roma in February last year.

The sisters are believed to lead the so-called Tobacco Cartel, whose members are accused by the local authorities of robbing lorries transporting cigarettes in recent months.

La Takeshi is also believed to be in charge of drug trafficking and the sale of Chinese cigarettes primarily in the neighbourhood of Tepito, located within Colonia Morelos, but also further afield.

Cops raided a property with tobacco and coffee processing machinery worth MXN 15 million (GBP 528,510) believed to belong to the cartel in late April.

They seized the machinery and also rescued the kidnapped lorry driver who had been transporting the goods and was being held inside the building against his will.

Officers believe the pretty duo was linked to this crime, and they have appealed to members of the public with knowledge of the women’s whereabouts to contact the authorities.
