This is the moment health workers in hazmat suits tackle a woman who allegedly tried to avoid mandatory quarantine by jumping out a bus window after returning to China from Germany.

The unnamed woman was caught on camera by other bus passengers as she picked up her belongings and tried to sprint into a nearby park yesterday (29th March).

But half a dozen half health workers descend upon her, and one brings her down, thwarting her escape.

In the video, buses bearing the wording ‘Qingdao’, a coastal city in East China’s Shandong Province, can be seen waiting around the park as health workers in decontamination suits prepare to screen them and move them to isolation hotels.

All returning Chinese citizens are subject to a 14-day quarantine and observation period, while foreign nationals, including those with valid visas and residence permits, were banned as of midnight on 28th March.

The woman, who is said to have flown in from Frankfurt, Germany, did not wish to be quarantined, reports.

Witnesses in the bus also claimed she had been found with a mild fever measuring 37.3 degrees Celsius.

The footage shows the woman sitting on the ground and refusing to budge while being surrounded by workers in full protective gear.

The Qingdao Health Commission said it had received reports of the incident, which officials were still investigating.

It is unclear where the woman was taken after the events seen in the video.
