This footage show a detained suspect in handcuffs chilling out in a police station with cops as they watch China’s massive military parade on TV together.

The unnamed suspect held at the Huolonggang Police Station in the city of Wuhu, which is in East China’s Anhui Province, had been detained for public order offences, the police said.

As celebrations in China’s capital of Beijing began on 1st October to mark the 70th anniversary of the Community Party’s founding, the suspect heard it playing on a TV and requested to watch it.

He told the officers who arrested him that he did not wish to regret missing the event, so the authorities agreed to his request and let him into the conference room.

Video from the room full of police officers shows the cops keeping him company as he watches President Xi Jinping stand in front of his country’s combined military might, announcing the commencement of the parade.

Social media user Yusheng Anning wrote: “There is hope for him yet.”

The National Day celebrations, which came as protesters were firebombing buildings in Hong Kong, marked the start of a lengthy public holiday known as ‘Golden Week’.
