The victim’s family said on social media, where they shared the CCTV footage, that the driver of the car identified himself as Antonio Solis.

However, a second driver reportedly appeared and identified himself as Miguel Solis Jimenez. After speaking with Solis, the man declared that he was culpable of causing the accident, according the family.

Local media said the vehicle was uninsured and had no licence plates.

The driver of the silver car was reportedly detained and released 48 hours later. It is unclear if he has been charged yet.

Meanwhile, the victim was seriously injured and suffered a fractured pelvis and blows to her head.

The family added that they are paying for her hospital treatment through fundraisers.

The police investigation is ongoing.
