This is the moment a canvas flies off a lorry on a busy motorway and wraps itself around two people on a motorbike, causing them to veer into a tanker and crash to the tarmac.

The incident was filmed by a motorist’s dash-cam in the western Malaysian state of Selangor on 3rd November.

In the footage, the canvas is seen flapping behind the lorry as it speeds along the motorway.

Just as two people on a motorcycle enter the frame, the cover flies off the lorry, apparently without a visible licence plate, and wraps around the bikers.

They steer towards a tanker and crash into the side of it, falling to the tarmac and nearly being crushed under the vehicle’s huge wheels.

The bikers and the wrecked motorcycle all end up in the middle lane, and both victims, apparently male, are seen getting to their feet and dusting themselves off without obvious injury.

Putrajaya District police chief A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said no one has come forward to report the incident yet.

Azman Shariat, head of the Selangor Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department, said the incident happened near the city of Cyberjaya in the state of Selangor.

He added that they are attempting the contact the owner of the dash-cam footage to find out more about the lorry driver involved in the accident.

One online user said: “Are they stupid for tying the cover like that?”

Another netizen commented: “I hope the bikers summon the lorry driver and leave him with nothing. So stupid. Thankfully they were not run over.”
