A popular pregnant influencer who has over three million Instagram followers has told how she was punched in the stomach when she was mugged in Rio and is now “afraid to go anywhere”.

Rayssa Buq was reportedly in her car in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil when she was mugged last Sunday, 11th December.

She said: “He hit my stomach taking the cell phone because it was in my lap, he ripped my nail off.” She shared a video on her Instagram Stories showing her finger bandaged.

Rayssa added: “The police arrived on time, he [the robber] got on the bus.”

She added that she managed to track down her phone to the bus, which the cops then raided, retrieving the device and arresting the mugger.

But Rayssa reportedly felt pain in her stomach where she had been hit and decided to go to hospital to make sure everything was good with her baby.

She told her followers while waiting to see the doctor: “I’m already in the maternity ward waiting for the doctor.”

Luckily the doctor told her that everything was okay, with her telling her followers on Instagram Stories: “Everything is fine with [her soon-to-be-born baby] Asher. Praised be the name of the Lord. Everything is perfect! The pains are from the nerves.”

But Rayssa, who was visiting Rio for work and to discover the city, thinks it is about time she went back to her home town, saying: “The trauma is great. The scene doesn’t leave my head. Every time the image comes. He was very violent, the punch in my stomach was very strong. I want to go back to Fortaleza.”

Fortaleza is the capital of the north-eastern Brazilian state of Ceara.

She added that she was now “afraid to go anywhere”.

It was unclear if the suspect, who has not been named, had been charged at the time of writing.
