This is the moment an elderly woman crossing the street at the same time as an adorable pooch is run over by a bus as the lucky animal flees without a scratch.

The incident was filmed by a CCTV camera in the colony of Mexico 68 in the municipality of Naucalpan located in the central Mexican state of Mexico and shared on social media.

In the footage, a white minibus stops in the road and a woman in a green dress appears from behind it as she is about to cross the road next to a small dog.

Apparently blind-sighted, the oncoming bus driver fails to see the crossing woman and runs her over.

As the dog scurries clear, the woman disappears underneath the bus which comes to a stop in the middle of the road.

Several people get off the bus to check underneath while pedestrians and other road users also stop to assist.

At the end of the clip, bystanders are seen on their knees peering under the bus to check on the elderly pedestrian.

According to local media, a witness managed to help the woman from under the bus and she got to her feet and hugged her handbag to her chest.

Eyewitness Jorge Trejo told local media that a “paramedic arrived on motorbike, saying that there were no ambulances” and that they did not “check her properly”.

There have been no further updates on the woman’s condition. It is also unclear if the local authorities are investigating the incident.
