This thief fell from a second-floor window during a bungled robbery only to be smashed on the head by a falling TV that he was trying to steal.
He then gets up, sees that the TV that he had dropped had not smashed because it landed on his head instead of on the floor, and he grabs it and runs off.
The embarrassing incident took place in a dental clinic in the city of Belo Horizonte, Brazil last Friday (13th August).
A security camera captured the moment the thief fell from the second floor of the dental clinic.
Before he can pull himself together the 45-inch flat-screen TV he was trying to steal smashes him on the head.
Despite falling onto concrete from the second floor and being clattered on the head by the TV the man scrambles to stand up, picks up the TV which is unlikely to be functional after the fall and flees the scene.
Police told local news site G1 that the thief broke into the clinic and stole USD 100 (72.79 GBP) and the 45-inch flat-screen TV that can be seen hitting the unidentified suspect on the head in the footage.
Daniel Garcia Mauro, the owner of the clinic, told G1 that this was the second time in a week someone had burgled his property.
He claims that last Tuesday (10th August) someone broke into the clinic in the middle of the night and stole several ‘low value’ objects.
An investigation has been opened but according to local media, the police are yet to identify the suspect.
