This is the moment a bungling thief is beaten to a pulp by staff at an undertakers after trying to rob them with a fake gun while grieving relatives were planning a funeral.

The incident took place in the city of Mogi Mirim, which is located in the state of Sao Paulo in south-eastern Brazil on Monday night (29th of November).

Two suspects can be seen in the footage entering the funeral parlour and attempting to rob the people inside.

But one of the suspects was suddenly overpowered by an undertaker. The two can be seen fighting before the undertaker appears to slam the bungling thief onto the floor as the grieving relatives flee in terror.

The funeral director is reported as having told the police that he was talking to customers and organising a funeral for a person who had just died when the two suspects entered the business and said that they were robbing it.

He said that the two criminals had faked being armed.

One of the suspects began taking the victims’ mobile phones but the second suspect was overpowered by the undertaker when he tried to search him.

The suspect who was overpowered was eventually arrested by police while the second suspect, who fled, is currently on the run.

The arrested suspect was taken to hospital before being taken to a police station.

The second suspect had not been arrested at the time of writing and neither of the suspects have been named. The funeral parlour director has not been named either.
