Moment Thief Cant Believe His Luck After He Robs Business Armed With Umbrella And Cashier Hands Him Till Contents

This is the moment a thief can’t believe his luck after he robs an ice cream parlour armed with an umbrella and the cashier actually hands him the contents of the till.

The incident, which was caught on CCTV, took place in the city of San Francisco Solano in the Argentinian province of Buenos Aires on Sunday, 28th November.

The footage shows how a man clad in a black hoodie and face mask approaches the till and points his umbrella at the cashier as if it were a long gun and apparently tells the worker to hand him the money.

He then can’t believe his luck as the visibly young cashier, despite the ‘weapon’ clearly being an umbrella, takes wads of cash from the till and hands them to him.

According to local reports, the man stole the day’s proceeds of ARS 5,000 (GBP 37) from the business, which belongs to an unnamed chain of ice cream parlours. The average monthly wage in the South American country, according to Trading Economics, is ARS 86,128 (GBP 642).

The footage swiftly went viral and was covered by local media, with reporters chuckling at the absurdity of the incident and questioning how the cashier could not have noticed the ‘gun’ was actually an umbrella, even if the young person in question was initially overcome by nerves.
