BUM DEAL: Tourists In China Surprised By Transparent Bathtub In Hotel Apartment

Tourists in China were surprised at the sight of this unique bathtub which has a transparent bottom that visitors can see straight through from the floor below.

The unusual bathroom can be found at a homestay called Jingya Villa, located in the city of Yanbian, in the north-eastern Chinese province of Jilin.

News about this peculiar design broke after an unnamed woman posted videos of the bathtub on Douyin- the Chinese version of TikTok.

Ms Li, a worker at the homestay, told local media that the place is a single-family home, and the apartment is meant for couples, so there is no problem with privacy.

The videos show that the bottom of the bathtub is made of fully transparent glass, and there is a staircase leading to the first floor.

No matter whether upstairs or downstairs, one can still see straight through the bathtub.

According to Ms Li, the room type is a loft style, called a small villa double-bed room, about 100 square metres big, with the bedroom above and the living room below.

Ms Li said: “It was designed by a Taiwanese designer. Our apartment is a couples theme, and in our opinion, it is an ingenious design style.”

Ms Li said that there are different opinions on the Internet, but if netizens are worried about privacy issues, but assures that the privacy of the homestay can be guaranteed.

“Our homestay has been open for three years,” she explained.

“We also have other apartment types,” Ms Li added.
